Home battery storage

Home battery storage for Greater Manchester homes

Stop selling cheap and buying back dear. Without a battery, much of your solar goes to the grid for a few pence, then you buy electricity back at full price after dark. A battery keeps it for you to use.

In short

Is a home battery worth it in Greater Manchester?

For most homes with solar, yes: a battery lets you use your own electricity after dark instead of exporting it cheaply, and in winter it can charge on a cheap overnight tariff. Batteries can be fitted with new panels or added to existing solar, carry a 10-year guarantee, and are sized from your real usage.

Why homeowners add a battery

Use more of the power you make

Run your evenings on sunshine

Stored solar powers cooking, washing and TV after dark.

Beat peak prices

Charge overnight at off-peak rates in winter when the sun's weak.

EV-ready

Pair with a smart charger to move cheap or free power into your car.

Backup option

Keep essential circuits on during a power cut, where your system supports it.

Your options

New system or add-on: we do both

Solar + battery together

The most cost-effective route: one design, one installation, one set of paperwork.

Add a battery to existing solar

Already got panels, even if another company fitted them? We'll check your inverter and recommend the simplest way to add storage.

Battery only (no solar)

No suitable roof? A battery on a smart tariff can still charge cheaply overnight and power your home through expensive daytime hours.

  • Modular options you can expand later
  • App monitoring and control
  • LFP (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry for long life
  • 10-year battery guarantee

Questions

Home battery FAQs

Do I need a battery with solar?

Not always, but a battery lets you use far more of your own electricity instead of exporting it cheaply and buying it back at full price in the evening. It can also charge from cheap overnight tariffs in winter. We'll tell you honestly whether it's worth it for you.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?

Usually, yes, even if we didn't install your panels. We'll check your inverter and recommend the simplest way to add storage.

Will a battery keep my lights on in a power cut?

Many batteries can provide backup power when set up for it, but not all do so automatically. If backup matters to you, tell us and we'll design for it.

Is a battery right for you?

We'll look at your usage, your tariff and your solar (if you have it) and tell you honestly whether a battery will pay for itself, and what size makes sense.
